Found Item – Repost of an insightful blog by Ariel Schwartz

Ariel is one of my favorite thinkers. In the post, she addresses a topic that many of my clients have had to deal with. I highly recommend giving it a read.

Here’s an excerpt from her post “The Future of Education: An Online University That Charges $199 Per Month for Unlimited Classes”:

There is at least one school that’s getting it right, though–it’s profitable, growing 30% to 40% each year, charging students less than $500 per month, and operating on a competency-based model that allows students to complete courses at their own pace.” LINK TO ARTICLE

New Charter University can be accessed for free online by anyone. What are your thoughts on this? Is its freemium model going to truly democratize higher education?
